More Custom Orders for Boys!

I love doing custom car seat canopies. It's so fun to choose fabric in behalf of someone knowing what their style is. Eek! Here are the two custom car seat canopies I did this week. Two boys coming late spring and early summer. Enjoy!

Plain Jane and Wheelies

I wasn't even going to buy fabric yesterday, but two things were so irresistible that I not only bought fabric yesterday, I made two car seat canopies this morning! Love feeling inspired.

First, Riley Blake's new Wheelies line in flannel - very soft and one of my favorite boy colors, orange:
The other is Michael Miller's Plain Jane fabric in black, red, and white. My sister, Katy, should probably not see this because she'll want to have another baby tomorrow. It's so her! Maybe it's also "so someone you know"? Go to our shop to view more photos. It really is so so cute. (I also got the hot pink version of this fabric.)

We have some really big news. We're celebrating our 100th sale by having a give away of epic proportions for everyone who has ever bought a car seat blanket from us. At the end of the week we'll post photos and of the beautiful stuff we're giving away plus how you can still be entered!

Lindsey's Boy

This Car Seat Blanket is a gift for my friend Lindsey. She and I have known each other for almost ten years. A couple of weeks ago we got to waddle around Material Girls together and we both chose fabric for our boys' Car Seat Blankets. Her baby boy is due in just a few short weeks, and I'm so excited for her! Congratulations, Lindsey! Enjoy!

Have a Hoot!

Owls are cute. And gender neutral. Hot pink is not so gender neutral. I love the colors in this one - very happy.

Fishies and Gray Damask

This fabric is called "Snorkel." Isn't that fun?! I love the colors (it's reversible) and the print. Yay!

I loved this damask - the gray is so pretty and delicate. I couldn't find anything I loved to go with it, though. The brown with the flowers is part of the same line of fabric, so I took it. My favorite is being surprised by the other side of the blanket, and this one is definitely surprising and delightful.

Lots of Canopies!

"Crazy About Dots and Stripes" is the name of this fabric:
My Mom chose this combo during a fabric shopping binge right after Thanksgiving. It's really bright and happy - I love orange for boys!

More of Moda's classic Dottie fabric - this time with paisley minky:

Here's another favorite combo from that wonderful Riley Blake fabric that we've been beating to death:
I love it! I'd do it again! I probably will do it again. This one is reversible, too.

And finally, something for the girls:
Very classy, I think. Those stripes won't hurt your eyes in real life, I promise. :)

All four car seat blankets are available in our shop right now!

Perfect Car Seat Canopies for the Spring!

Today I made two car seat canopies. Very similar patterns from Free Spirit. They're made with a lighter-weight minky on the inside which I think will be perfect for the upcoming Spring weather. Visit The Butterfly Net to purchase either (or better yet, both!) of these car seat canopies!

More Car Seat Canopies!

I've been pretty good about making boy car seat canopies lately. And yes, I'm counting a gender-neutral one.

First, an obviously male-inspired car seat canopy:

And here is an extreme close-up of a Moda Dottie in Spring Green with Ivory Dot Minky. What a lofty title:And because I couldn't help myself, I made one for a girl with a couple of Heather Bailey's new fabrics. I had them cut the plastic off these bolts so that I could get to the fabric. That's right - I didn't wait until they were up on the shelf like a nice person would have done. How embarrassing:

Boy Car Seat Canopies Coming!

Even though I have two really cute girl car seat canopies to make (one has sparkles - I can't stand it!), I'm still keeping with my goal of making more boy blankets.

First, some of Heather Bailey's new fabric in boy colors. Yes, yellow is a boy color. I didn't used to think so, but starting now, it is.
Besides being so cute and happy, it's also reversible:

I also did a car seat cover with alphabet fabric. Just think! If you have an older brother/sister they can learn their ABC's looking at your new baby's car seat blanket! Win-win.

Oh yeah, and it's reversible, too.

Go check out the shop before someone else buys up these cute babies! We don't sell babies - I was talking about the car seat blankets.

Owls Car Seat Canopy

When I was at the fabric store, I was SURE this combo was for a boy. The more I worked on it, the more I thought it was pretty gender neutral. Owls are gender neutral, right? Whatever. :)

Delicious Damask Car Seat Canopy

I wanted to finish one more car seat canopy this year and this was the perfect one to end on. As soon as I noticed the damask on this perfect pink fabric was sparkly, I bought it. I had no plan - nothing for the under side. It didn't matter. It is so princess-y! My little girl wants to touch it and be near it.
Of course it's still just normal fabric and you can wash it like any other cotton. The other side is a pink stripe minky that I've had for a while. Having one side be so soft and the other side so beautiful makes the whole thing very delicious.

Happy New Year!

REVERSIBLE Moda Santorini in Purple and Green

I completely fell in love with this fabric and had to have it. Of course it's Moda. I'm a walking billboard for them. Sigh. This reversible car seat canopy is a one-of-a-kind and must be for someone you know, right? Right. Buy Moda Santorini Car Seat Canopy on Etsy
